UX? What's that. We're not Experimental Psychologists but our interns are! We know what clients want and we understand through decades of doing this what kind of users are game for what levels of learning. We love to test the boundaries but not at the expense of the client. There's a time and place for everything - knowing where and when to do that is a feeling you only get from doing this for a long time!
You Eye. Digital design. From desktop to responsive whatever to native apps... we love how many programs we have to keep switching to. What happened to 72 dpi. UI is our bread and butter. We're deeply involved in this medium specifically and the projects we work on challenge us to move fast. Jaime is the neuroscientist rocket owl and Adrianne has a feather in her hat. Opposites but the same.
Edit, Edit, Edit.
Pure. What Lassies have in common is that they are artists first. Understanding color, type, layout, style, and trends are second nature to us. We revel in areas we know less about. We spend time re-thinking something into their natural evolution. We like surprise and we love design kisses. Our goal is to make the user feel good without them even knowing how or why. We have a great respect for classic design rules and we have a huge desire to play.
We have to have fun. Experiments aren't for work they are just for fun. Some of these we do on our own and some we do together. The above is a sample from an experiment called A Shape. Each person here created something with the the same exact shape, daily. It was fun to see where it went after the designer wore through their go-to skills.
This week we are delivering a digital makeover for a real estate brand you have used if you have shopped for a home. We started with their approved Brand Guidelines for advertising & print...with that we created an entirely new look for their digital experience. We adjusted their layouts, created new icon sets from scratch, gave them a happy surprise in their color story, chose better fonts, defined brand moments through examples of animation and handed off guides in sketch with overarching principles along with very detailed examples and elements for their designers to run with. All in 2 months. Maybe that was too short.
We are so fortunate to be creating the brand for the newest most killer line of Parfum/Bath Care. This is a 3D prototype we just made...we have about 25 unique forms to create. From Identity to Bottles to Packaging to Fonts...through UX/UI all the way to the very last tissue paper, we're doing it. Meet you at the store in a year. Wee!
Our new intern Lynn, is currently building several examples of brand moments for our latest client. This is not a final design nor is it a chosen animation. Nice work Lynn!
“Lassie is outstanding. Elegant design, clear communication, exemplary documentation, everything a technical partner hopes for from a design team.”
- Jason Monberg, CEO PRESENCE
Sorry developers we love you so much! But we also love not having to work with you for a minute. We use squarespace templates with some fun CSS and voila. Square does a whole lot of dirty work, allowing us to focus on the cosmetics. With a little CSS we can tweak their templates to be original enough for some projects, Hell yeah!
"Lassie are a breath of fresh air in the design space. Pairing a fantastic attitude with an unbelievable work ethic, they can take an idea and turn it into something magical. Offering cutting edge design married with clean UI’s and innovative but simple UX, Lassie’s solutions and approach really stand out from the crowd."
- John Bradford JPMC
"Lassie designed our product and identity so elegantly that the design itself recedes and the larger experience comes forward."
- Rebecca White OSMOSY
"Lassie, elevated my pictures and ideas to the next level by creating for me my fantasy of what my staff meals website could grow up to be. They were fast, no nonsense, creative and a super nice bunch of ladies. As much as I recommend them to everyone and want them to keep crushing it, I want them to promise they don’t get too busy to take my next project beyond the stratosphere as well!"

We want to feature our people who also do experiments in their spare time when not at their big jobs.
Katie joined Pinterest this summer as Head of Story (Brand Master I think that means). On the side, last year, she created an insiders book for Barcelona where she interviews locals who are making something special and showcases them in a really cool fold out booklette called Barcelona Barcelona.
Chloe Greene works at Huge in San Francisco now... for a project at Google, if that's not complicated enough in her spare time she makes these sweet illustrated cards just for kicks.
Arianna Orland will be speaking at our first Lassie Presents this July. She will not be talking about her insane career that makes us all look bad - but her passion which is Paper Jam Press!
Congratulations Alexis Gallo for your first printed zine NEU featuring artists (writers, painters, dancers, designers) all about the theme "falling". Next one is "salt".
